Just bought some new rear shocks for the rally car. A set of Pedders Gas Shocks. I didnt have shocks as the previous owner took them with him, I just wanted something decent that could handle the job of rallying for a while. After I bought them I called Pedders Head Office in Vic to check they would be ok. Turns out the bloke I was talking to used to rally a 1200 coupe and sedan back in the 70's. He told me alll sorts of ideas and stuff he used to do and use such as using Range Rover engine mounts for more stability and better torque distribuiton. We chatted for ages about 1200's, it was great.

Anyway, I put in the new shocks and she is pretty stiff in the rear which is great. I have spent this arvo trying to put in a motor and box but for some reason the box wont mount flush with the motor, even when they are both out of the car! Total Bastard. I have to make a new cross memeber for the gearbox which is being a prick seeing as a I cant get the bearbox to mount up to the engine.

I am going to see if I can build this new motor next week or sometime soon.

I found out some details on Special Interest rego. The vehicle has to be 30yrs old, luckily my car was built in Jan of 1973. The car has to be inspected (put over the pits) again before it gets SI approval. Can only drive the car 52 times a year. There is some other details that relate to rally cars but they are all good.
