Guys a cheap way to get around the rego blues, is to get "Classic/Historic" rego. You may have seen the plates CH0000 or similar.

The deal is you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club ($50 per year.) Your car must be alder than 25 years. Then get the club scurtineer to cheack over the car, he will then give you a report you take to Vic Roads. They will then issuse you with a set of plates for a fee of $84 per year.

This lets you drive to and from club events (races, meetings, drive day etc.) it also allows you to drive to and from place of reapair and to do test and tuning.

So you can pretty much do anything you want as long as when and if you get stopped by the law you can justify youself.
