ultimate performance? If that's what you want you shouldn't even be considering carby turbos. or A series motors for that matter. The only reason for still doing carby turbo setups in this day and age is cheap horsepower. And that's a win for the draw thru setup.

intercoolers are nice, but when you're limited to 10psi there's not going to be huge performance gain when there are other ways of cooling the inlet charge. A simple water (or water/methanol) injected 14-16psi (or higher) draw thru system will murder your intercooled 10psi max blow thru setups.

throttle response is not an inherant problem with draw thru setups. And in fact has throttle response advantages over the blow thru system.

we never had any cold starting problems either - used to drive it to work everyday.

And if you are really keen, unlimited class ski boats commonly use draw thru air to air intercooled setups. Never seen one run blow thru...
