Air shocks do not improve handling. They are handy when you carry loads of varying weight. When you have a heavy load, you can add more air, and they'll act like a heaveir duty spring, keeping the back of the car from sagging. If that's what you need, try it out. I haven't heard of anyone using air shocks on a 1200 before.
