I agree steve. This "SI" version 1200 sounds like the GX version here in OZ. I had an A12GX engine and pulled it apart. It had flat-tops which would make more compression and
also oval ports on the head. The water chambers were also changed. It was a different setup for the manifold (i think). Were is your alternator positioned?
