I got it. The problem was the rb output shaft was too long for the ca bell. That was going right through the spigot bush and hitting the crank. Lopped 20mm off the end of the output shaft and it slipped right in. Buisly having tailshaft shortened and balanced, and making up gearbox crossmember mounts.
