A big advantage of water injection is that you can run a far higher comp. ratio, so power is going to go UP.
When I was an engineering stude, I recall reading a paper about some guy in UK who modified a 250cc BSA bike engine so that about 25% of the charge going thro it was water. I ran very nicely on about 14 or 15:1 CR and gave about 28 BHP.---this is in the 1930's remember
