You can test the radiator cap with a special hand pump designed for it ...

Or just swap it for one off a Holden ... they are all pretty much the same. I'm partial to 7lb caps (to keep pressure in the old radiators lower) and a 180 degree thermostat to keep pinging away with regular (low octane) fuel.
