RTA Recognised Engineering Signatorys use the "original weight" taken from the original "tare weight" of the sedan version of the vehicle model, with the largest engine available for that model (but without A/C or towbar). This weight is 730kg. Basically what this means is even if you have the ute,it`s weight is taken from the sedan.So technically,my ute weighs 730kg !! hahaha. These arn`t my rules,they`re quoted directly from RTA Information Sheet #6, page 3,under "Replacement Engine".
