I guess that all things are relative & as the supply of good 1200 Coupes dries up, many will come to realise that $3,000 for one suddenly becomes cheap. I think that we all suffer from this problem. I passed on the chance to buy a couple of spare '33 coupe bodies because i didn't want to spend the money, or find the space to store them.
It's only recently that i have realised that we can identify only about 22 of them & if we allow for another 3 as yet undiscovered ones, that adds up to about 25 of this particular body, that exist in the world.
I wish i had spent the money now as the sum that the Yanks are prepared to pay for one will go a long way towards building the whole car.
Does this amount to the recognition of the benefit of foresight..............in hindsight.
Damn right.
Moral of story?
Try to figure out what it is that you REALLY want. Don't get too involved in "fads"
Try to find the best example that is available & be prepared to pay an honest sum for it. This often saves a lot of grief & money trying to source parts to replace missing or damaged stuff as well as costs linked to the repair of rust & collision damage. Good straight rust free cars cost the most to buy, but the least to repair.
Happy car hunting. Its a passtime that i have not given up on all my adult life. I love it.
