NO the 79-82 A10 was sold in the US as the 510, NOT the 1600, Nissan did this as a marketing ploy to draw from the image of the older 68-73 HL510. there are a number of differences between the 2 models, all of the older 510 sedans had independent rear suspension, where as the newer one had a rigid rear axle. the older 510 wagon had a rigid rear axle with the H190 diff. and the newer one had the H165B. the older one had leaf springs and the newer one had coil springs.
