I'm inclined to think that the CA series of engines are going to be a very good option for 1000's
I am doing what i can to determine just how hard, or easy, it will be to do a CA16DE install in my 1000 coupe.

I think that the "16" is a good selection for me as i am not looking for blinding performance, just good performance, & to buy a whole EXA as a donor car should cost less than a CA18DE version.

At this time it looks like an MR30 Skyline "stumpy" gearbox, installed into a series 3 Bluebird transmission case will yeild a 5 speed overdrive box that fits the engine with a gearlever that is foward of the regular position. Will it fit thriugh the original hole. Time will tell.

This looks like it could be a practical conversion. As for the rear axle, we're still working on that one, but it looks like the H150 diff center from the Sunny's will fit & a 3.7 to 1 ratio existed. Thats one option.
