I am currently looking at the possibility of using the '81 to '86[?] skyline box [L engine] & placing all the internals into a Series 3 Bluebird case with integral bellhousing, or perhaps a Pintara case, but i will examine all avenues before buying two gearboxes to make one.

Is this '81 to '86 model Skyline box the "stumpy one refered to?

I can handle a small setback of perhaps 3" max [75mm] but would much prefer to use the original gear lever hole in my 1000.

The series 3 Bluebird box is about 145 to 150mm longer than the original 1000 / 1200 box from bell face to the gear lever pivot pin, & thats about 6" which is way too long.
