Perhaps i assume too much of your sense of humor.
The first line is intended to show an obvious bias towards Datsun power.It was intended to be too obvious, & thus,not taken seriously. It's a two sentence throwaway line that just about everyone else has rightly ignored.
The mumbling is to infer an old & highly biggoted old man muttering in his beard in the same way that barbers did in the 60's & 70's when hippies & long hair became popular.

Perhaps the pressure of the season is getting to you & maybee you should take it a bit easy.

With a WRX engine, a small Datsun would perform VERY nicely, but i suspect that the problems linked to it's instalation would be great. No one to my knowledge has done it yet, & maybee there is a reason for that.
The unblown Dodge hemi goes into a Dodge chassis,.. & my 1000 will get a Nissan / Datsun engine of one sort or another. Hopefully a CAxxDE

Charlies engine choices were also trad old school instalations that had a rich history in another time & place. They had been made unfashionable with the introduction of newer designs. He was pioneering [with others] this history revival over here. I am following in those footsteps. While these engines did not match up with the same make of chassis, all these engines shared a common basic design concept & layout. How many layout variation of 50's & 60's Americam V8's can there be?
