Took my ute to the servo on monday for a roadworthy. It failed because I didn't have an engineers certificate for the mods. When I lived in Victoria a certificate wasn't required. That's what the fella at the RTA said. The additional work required to meet the technical standards were,
(1) Get new tare weight (2) Fit catalytic converter (Shouldn't have told him it runs PULP) (3) Restricter in fuel inlet for ULP nozzle (4) Charcoal canister (5) PVC valve between rocker cover to air filter
The certificate also lists the increase in engine size, non factory gearbox mount, aftermarket steering wheel, upgraded brakes, non factory rims & tyres.
$500 for the certificate. Not bad for 2 hours work.
PS I will be at the BBQ down the Cotter this Sunday if anyone wants a look the certificate, and the car too.
