I've been noticing a trend - maybe not so much here on the forum - but datsuns in general seem to be getting half jobs done to them. I mean - i see so many once working datsuns striped to the shell with big intensions to make it a show piece - or at least a restored datsun - but never end up making it past the stripping stage - or - paint shell no engine - or - turbo engine in no paint no interior - or paint stripped rust everywhere gave up - or whatever... It just seems some people just cant complete a full project - or run out of money before they start.
I dunno - i could be talking crap. But in order to preserve as many datsuns as possible - i think stripping original working datsuns should be illegal unless you actually start and FINISH the project. If the datsuns shell is un-repairable - salvage everything.
My 1200 has been a constant state of repair for over 6 years - i never once thought about selling it. Well - maybe once or twice - but not seriously - i just cant get rid of somthing half done - its like cutting a datsun 1200's throat and throwing it in the bin... Ok bad analogy - but u get the point...
Maybe these people are just not real datsun enthusiests? I dunno about u - but i have a bond with my 1200 - kinda like a pet dog i guess - and selling it half alive is not on the cards... Selling fullstop is not on the cards...
What do you guys think?
