So I put my 60 series 5 speed back in yesterday after having it re-raced because of a bit of noise. The gearbox ppl said that it looked fine inside, and replaced the bearings. Inspected the thruster bearing before re-fitting and it seemed fine. But there is still noise! Particularly a noticeable whine when the foot is off the clutch, but also when going down through the lower gears. So while Ive taken it back to the mechanic, but while im waiting, what could be the other causes of such noise if its no the bearings?
Im not sure if its particular to the 60 series becuase I remember I had similar issues in my ute with a 56t series...though not as noticable.
