Gearbox rebuild/removal

Hey all,

I’m getting closer to rebuilding (and working) the A12 in my B310 Sunny and have thought of this. Seeing as the gearbox rattles under load (shifter forks worn/loose?!) would it be feasible for me to rebuild it (the 4 speed) or should I be better off getting something else (is there another gearbox that will bolt straight up to the A12 and that is easy to get?)

Also if I were to freshen up the 4 speed, what would there be available in the way of spares (seals and bearing I would think I could get from a decent bearing supplier right?).

Secondly could I remove the gearbox while attached to the motor. Like remove the cross member, tail shaft and misc stuff and pull the motor with the gearbox up and out of the engine bay – or wont this work in a B310?

Thanks if any one can shine any light on this.
