Could runningthewrong plugs causemy motor to run hot ? I discovered today that I have BP6ES plugs , is this a hotter range? Is this a likely reason why my engines been running a bit hot? Arent A engines meant to run BP5ES?

BP6ES is a colder plug, but not much colder. I don't see any reason why this would make your engine run hotter. It may foul easier, but the difference is little that i doubt it.

I ran BP6ES because at the time I was buying there was no 5's on the shelf and it was fine

OLD? Whadayamean OLD? Our Datsuns are just geting to be "mature" Pre 1930 could be regarded as old, but 1960's & up are just out of warranty.

I used BP6ES plugs, or the NGK platinum equivalant, for many many years in my GX engine. They were just right.

SORRY, Dodgeman. What I meant by that remark, was old considering the materials from which they are made . (When compared to the more substantial materials
that the likes of mopar use) I certainly never meant to ruffle your feathers . Besides EVERYTHING wears out eventually.

Don't wory about ruffling my feathers, you'l need to do better than that.
We all have our own perspective on what constitutes "old." When i was a kid, my father was one of the founder members of the Veteran Car Club of Australia in 1952, & we had pre 1910 cars around. These things became the benchmark for "old" for me, but i guess anything that is older than we are is normally regarded as old by most people, but like a few of us, i remember our Datsuns when they were new.
I guess that makes ME old.
No offence taken at all.

I prefer older stuff myself, Im game for most things but new stuff is too complex and dear for an old school fool like me. I was weaned on Mopars by my dad.
