surge tank getting made for a15ett

two questions:

what volume is typical?
and
is there any reason for the return to be at top or bottom of tank or does it not matter?

id go minimum 1 litre and return at the middle or top with overflow about 3/4 of the way up. just buy one and ask them at revolution racegear

I would agree minimum of 1 litre and for the return to be around the top.The reason for this is so the returning fuel can flow freely into the surge tank and not have the pressure of the fuel already there to fight against.
I think they sell surge tanks reasonably cheap nowdays so it might be worth just buying one. One think to remember is if you make one and its out of metal it will rust out unless it is sealed.
