L series valves would have to be shortened.
You'd then have to either use lash caps or have the tips hardened again to make sure you don't get any mushrooming of the valve tip. I went with lash caps myself.
You'd also have to recut the collett grooves to suit. The stem diamter is right though.
I'm using 38mm inlets and 33mm exhausts.
By doing this you can change your installed spring heights and seat pressures too depending on what springs you use. Make sure you don't go into coil bind though.

Thanx Dattoman, I have found stainless race valves that are 40mm, 8mm stem diameterwithout collett grooves, I think I will buy these and cut them down to a suitable length and size.... I also will have to change the valveguides to copperbronze ones!! I was hoping to find premanufactured valves for my engine to save some time but maybe they are impossible to find!!

Hi 1200rallycar, It has happened a lot in my garage since I updated my homepage.... my turbocharged Datsun E10 is almost ready now with a new engine and much other new stuff!! At the moment I am helping my brother to build a A14 race engine for his E10. Another friend of mine (silverarrow on my homepage) is also building a race engine so there is much going on at the moment even if it is full winter here now!! I will post some pictures of my turbocharged E10. I want to thank everyone here on this forum, you have been very helpful and there are much valuable information on this site for us Datsunfreaks all over the world.......
