right now im not too happy, after having taken off the manifolds to put extractors on the rally car, which was a barstard of a job, gee the way the SU manifold works is annoying,

anyway i finally got it all back together and
i have started to fill up the radiator and water is just pooring out from the bottom of the i nletmanifold as fast as i can put it in
(from water jackets)

my guess, the bloody things didnt tighten properly, the nut has bound onto the stud and all ive done is tighten the stud in

you cant see a bloody thing under there with that dumb heat shield the SU's have, wasnt gonna put it on but needed it to mount the return springs

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
poooooooooooooooooooooooooo

no car for another week

p.s. i know use new nuts, but i have no money so i cant, and did i say i hate studs!!!

It's my guess that you didn't spin the nuts onto the studs BEFORE fitting the manifold to check the threads.
I used new exhaust nuts when i built my engine. They're longer & shiney, so they looked good. Not the easiest of jobs, but i always remember what one wise tradesman told me during apprentice days.
Those who don't have time to do it properly, have to find the time to RE-DO it when it fails
