For seat options, we would need to know what bodystyle ypu are using. Two door styles used a seat that folded foward, [except the ute] while the four door & ute did not need this feature.
I used 1200 Coupe front seats in my wife's '68 two door, & while they offered more comfort, they were less than 100% ideal. You would need to look at donor cars of a similar size to the 1000, & these might include things like Diahatsu's & the little Toyota models.
The rear shocks from the 1200 coupes interchange with the rear shocks on all the 1000's [i think] & this gives you a fairly wide choice. The fronts are more restricted, with only the originals stock type's available for a straight bolt in. I used 1000 ute ones for my sedan as these were slightly stiffer, but are no longer available. I believe that the shocks from the LC & LJ Torana models can be modified to fit by changing the bottom mounting bar & i have one of these so modified, but i do not know if it will be a success. If anyone knows of other front shock options, hopefully we will hear from them.
I have run the 5 speed from a 120Y GX for many years with complete success, but i did not abuse the gearbox like some do, & my engine is basicly a stock 1200GX with a big bore. The only modification needed was to space the gearbox crossmember down a little with a couple of flat washers.
With these mods, it's not so much a restoration as a rebuild. Hopefully, the info is of some use to you. Chris
