now that you put it that way, yore probaly right. My a12 is not normal i guess. A 1600 corrolla carby woulnt be a bad choice. dont know how easy it woul be to bolt up. not sure what they use.
perhaps a carby of a L16\L18 datto or something. they are a bit bigger arnt they?Edit : you could always jet the 32.36 down a bit though.

32/36 weber or G180 Holley (Same thing basically)
Buy a redline adapter from your autobarn/autopro type store and bolt it up. May need to get a linkage made depending on what carb you get.

Can normally find webers on some of the older fords. I am not exactly sure of the makes... Someone else will know...

Hitachi DCH-306. My new 1200 runs great with it. My old 1200 ran superb with it. The Weber won't give any improvement except above 5,000 rpm.

Since the question was not asking for performance modifications, then it should be a simple choice. The original series of carburettors were designed to fit, & work with these engines.
I have always prefered the slightly later electric choke versions as this wonderous invention lifts the burden of knob pulling,... & pushing,... & needing to tax my grey matter on when to pull or push.

Rebuild an original series of carb. On a standard engine, there is nothing that really offers more.

Whats the difference between the Hitachi DCH-306 and the DCG-306?

Its a DCG 306 in my Sedan is the DCH different or is it just a typo?

I believe the G is manual choke and H is electric. Otherwise the carbs are identical. I know the old stock 1200 my bro had way back ran great with the stock carb on it.
