If you build a draw through system ,all you have to do is make a turbo manifold from an old set of flows stick a SU on the turbo intake and plumb the boost side into the stock intake manifold. Use the heater hose tails on the motor for the water cooling if your turbo has it and tap into the oil presure switch for the oil feed. The stock fuel pump should be fine for this set up. That is the cheepest and easyest way to build a turbo set up. if you run mellow stock type boost the stock compresion will be fine . you may to use waer injectoin if it knocks

The main problem you are going to have is with your turbo. I don't believe the Toyota CT series of turbos can be carbon sealed. If you don't carbon seal them the fuel will eat through your compressor housing seal and into your oil gallery. The fuel will then mix and thin out your oil which in turn will then be able to pass through the rear seal into your exhuast housing and out your exhaust. Oil will also be pissing into your intake as well now that the fornt seal is fudged. Thus you start blowing craploads of oil smoke and raw oil out your exhaust. Speaking from experience.

what turbo do you think i should use and wats a rough price? i can get a t3 off a mate which i think needs a rebuild, would that be worthwhile or would i be better hunting around for one at wreckers and stuff, i wanna keep it as cheap as possible for the moment. also the head gasket in it has a minor blow in it so while im at it im gonna put a new gasket in it, should i just use a standard one or try get a metal one or something?

The turbo in question is my current Garret T25. It was in very good nick with very little shaft play. The problem is ANY turbo not carbon sealed will fail when you run fuel through it. The std seals will not stand up to fuel and they will perish. T3 I think may be alittle big. If I remember corrcetly the Garrett T3 also has the wastegate incorporated into the exhaust dump pipe. More of a pain to fabricate aftermarket stuff.

I would recommend a garret T2 or T25. Either way you are going to have to rebuild it unless you can find a turbo which is already carbon sealed. My sponsor will have a carbon sealed T25 here in Brisbane for sale soon. However the price will be around the $450 mark as it will be fully rebuilt.

Craig

*Edit: Forgot to mention some ofthe garret turbos came out carbon seale but you won't know until you get them on. *

Not really any way around it unless you make a blow thourgh system by sealing and pressurising carbies. Your turbo may last 3mins or 3months without carbon sealing on a suk thru jobby.
