the tacho in my ute never works when the car is cold and when it finally warms up it bounces up and down. when i rev it and hold it on say 3000 rpm it will stay there but will go back down to 0 rpm when idling. can anyone tell me why it does this and a way of fixing it if possible?
cheers

Sounds like a loose wire. When the engine is moving a bit, it connects. At a quiet idle, wire connection moves apart. So start by checking all the connections, make sure they are tight.
