A healthy A15 should have 140+hp with that power should run 14s easy.
Talking about speed Can someone work out what speed my datsun has done it was reving to 6400rpm in 5th gear 0.83 overdrive it has 195/60/14 tyres and a 4.625:1 diff ratio All I know is
the speedo was tapping back on the 0 for quite a while and the road was nearly a blur it had more in it but revs where a bit on the high side. Ill put the 3.3 in it and take it for a
run out the road

Yep..My 1200 hit the 0 on the coupe dash. ~150mph?
That was without a turbo..instead a nice big hill on the way to Canberra. The speed calc relies heavily on measuring the diameter of the rear wheel, and then estimating how
much its diameter has expanded at that speed. But we could guess.
..How's the rebuild going?

"reving to 6400rpm in 5th gear 0.83 overdrive it has 195/60/14 tyres and a 4.625:1 diff ratio "

That works out to 113MPH. Lots faster than a stock 1200!

Dattodude : FYI 150MPH would be 7100RPM in 5th w/ 195/60/14's, a 3.9:1 diff and .83 OD. It would also require somwhere in the neighborhood of 270HP or more. It's also
require some pretty huge gonads!!

Hi Andrew,

How much do you want for the turbo?
When does it start to make power?

Justin

It was a BIG hill, and if you know 1200 speedos, it was right around at 0. No kidding. If you extrapolate numbers on the dial it would read 160mph, I took 10 off for error, it could be
20 less. I was running 205/55, and I have had my engine up to 7000 with 3.9 .83od. As for the gonads, I think youth alone got me there. ps. I've also had a stock A12 up to 6600 in 4th :
) valves bouncing all over the place...

I've gotten my 1200 up to 6,900 rpm in 5th gear (B210 5 speed), with 3.9 rearend, and 175/50-13's. I think the tranny ratio is .82 in this tranny. That had the speedo back to 0 again.
That was a lot of fun, but I need bigger tires on back to correct the speedo. I calculated this out to around 135mph, which is fast enough to set a record at the Bonneville Salt Flats
in the 1200's class.
