There are many of them lying in rusty/smashed Commodores at the wrecking yard.

I would guess AU$20 to AU$50 to buy it.

I'll enquire the next time I'm at the wrecking yard, maybe this weekend. Do you want the throttle position sensor too?

Chris

Commodores? You mean to say GM uses Nissan engines in some of their cars?

I thought VL's only came out with RB30E
No double overhead cam!?!?!

Then some models came with the RB30ET

But I'm no commodore expert by far, but thats just what I've always thought

Cheers
Damo

Best thing that Holden did at the time, considering they wanted to overhead cam the 202! Yeeach
The fuel injection on those was horrendous, let alone an overhead cam one.
Yeah 1986-1988 for the VL.
The SL, Exective, Berlina, Vacationer and Calais all had three engine options.
RB30
RB30 Turbo
Blue 308 v8
At least thats what I can remember at them right now. Could be wrong.
Dont think any of them had a double overhaed cam, all single cam, fuel infested straght sixes,(bar the 308)
The skyline of the same era went better though.

apparently the commodore had overheating troubles, and the skyline didn't (or it overheated heaps quicker than the skyline). something to do with the radiator in the commodore being mounted lower than the one in the skyline.

yet another useless fact i've cluttered my mind with for years

Hey ISL33P, chase him up on it. I went to the wreckers today, and forgot to take my Allen Key Set. So I couldn't get one off.

Cheers,
Chris
