Can anyone plse tell me where else I can find the body id as the plate on the firewall of my Datsun 1200 GX is missing.

Body ID on 1200s is only in a couple of places. But there are other places..

In Australia:

1. It's on the build plate on the firewall.
2. Stamped into the waterbox panel.
3. The build plate was also riveted to the rightside strut tower in some markets.
4. In later models got a thin numbered alloy strip that was riveted to the front-top side of the inner guard.
5. I've seen it stamped into the top edge of the leftside strut tower.

Unlike new cars, there is no further evidence.
