Your best option is the alloy case Celica box. You won't break it and you can make up your own conversion bellhousing if you have to. Otherwise grab a Dellow conversion kit for the A series. Cost will be about the same as someone building you a Datto box with strengthened internals and then there is still no guarantee it will hold together. What are the specs of your A14?

they need to be a bit smaller probably, the size of the image file is too big. you can e-mail them to me if you like and i can make them smaller. just don't zip them up.

yeah a reg cook gearbox would be very nice but for the same money you could probably get the toyota t50, convert it, recondition it, get a close ratio gearkit from palmside, shout all your mates on the piss for a weekend and put a deposit on a house. but I'd still love one!

There is a Datsun box that fits and does the job nicley- its from a 1400 Sunny GX Coupe, has the dogleg shift pattern and a hydraulic clutch. They are substantially larger internally than even the 1400 box, the gear size being closer to the 180B box and are ideally suited for your requirements. Behind the turbo A14 with a 3.9 diff the ratios work very well. Good luck finding one but they are around so keep at it until you find one.
Look forward to seeing some pics of your car.
Cheers
Dave
