Hello Group,
Well I had to get off my Butt and do some research to find out what will get the A14 head
into more reliable shape.
Seat pressure,RPM ranges and cam lift were all factors I had to consider. Isky Cams has some slightly smaller than stock width duel spring sets PN#4005 that give approx
135Lbs seat pressure @1.61 installed
height and 243Lbs open @ .400 lift with stock rockers. Only thing was they have no retainers for 8mm valve stems. Stock A14 valve springs are 1.250
wide and about 1.181 tall. Chevy small blocks use
a 1.250 wide spring and could be cut down but I am not sure what the spring bind height is.
we're going to use Paeco inner springs @$4.00 each
new stock outers and Paeco Titanium retainers @
$ 16.00 each (OUCH!) but the aluminium retainers
are not strong enough to hold up over 6000 rpm.
Anyway, we are gathering some A14 and A15 head cores to develop some Killer combos that Sagemanone will stock for sale. Also we are working on some
intake manifolds that will fit some carbs like a Holly 4 barrel and a ram box design for the Holly
Pinto 2 barrel. These will fit "stock" not race
cores so any one can bolt one on!!
More as work progresses.
C-YA
Steve
