Hey all.
I asked about the whole thing beforeto make my car more competitive, but

A member mentioned to me to use a 1981 200SX rear axle and use an H190 LSD. Can't I just keep my original rear axle and install a Nismo H165?

What do I need to do to convert my rear drums to disks? And get bigger front rotors also. Can I use all four disks from a 198? 280ZX and also the calipers?

Thanks.

a nissan sports option book for the b210 said for a lsd for the h150 diff to modify h165 parts.now i don't know how much modification is needed, but the h165 centre won't fit into the h150 housing(curses).you could get the complete rearend from a datsun a10,which was sold as the 1600 in america.note, this isn't the p510,but a solid axle car from about 1980.this diff is a straight bolt in,& is a h165.the 280zx
discs look to be the ones.if you can find them, & i seem to remember the 280zx selling very well in america.get the front discs & calipers, too.

Would you be referring to a S12 200SX?

I'm 99% sure that 280ZX brakes will not just bolt onto your B310's struts. The only 1% doubt is because I've never held them up to each other, but I suppose I could maybe this weekend check it out. Anyways, the entire 280ZX strut and brake assembly will bolt onto your B310's lower control arm/ball joint so you can just replace the whole strut...keep in mind though that you'll have to cut off the 280ZX spring mounts and possibly have to shorten the strut tube as well.

you're right- different size stub axles, different caliper bolt spacing, different caliper offset. and yes use the ZX strut on the 310 steering arm. Caliper will struggle to fit inside most 13" wheels. They only just touch the inside of my wheels, the wheels still turn though. (HRT learned the hard way that it's important to have enough clearance some may remember.)
I know all this as I have them on my bench at work right now. I'm modifying the 310 struts to have vented discs with skyline/300ZX 4 pots and all fitting inside a 13" wheel.
I'll let you guys know how I get on. I'm also making adjustable platforms and using really short adjustable shocks.

it's a good time to make coil overs. that's what i'm waiting for. those big brakes should stop good. what does the 280 strut / brake do to the unsprung weight?

I'm thinking about making my coilovers from Tecnho Toy Tuning, so should I go with the 280ZX front and rear struts + all the braking hardware huh?

unless you have a differnt rear suspension setup, my 310 has a coil spring and a hydraulic damper, so the rear suspension isn't special. get good dampers and springs.

i'm looking at those coilover from technotoytuning.com, those are nice, that stuff will work on a 310? Also consider a camber plate for the frontend.
