Anyone put a 4AGE into a Datto ute?
How do they go?
Being a Cast Iron block I thought it might be too heavy

apparently you have to do some clever tricks with the mounts to make the starter fit properly (it's on the wrong side).
but yeah they're a good engine, lotsa fun to drive and quite a revvy little motor.
but for the effort involved, i'd do the CA18 swap - unless you scored a bargain or something. but that's just me.

Hi I've got a 4age in a datto ute. Took me forever to put it in. had to make the extractors myself. The 4age and 5 speed fit great. I also put the toyota sprinter diff in. Goes hard. Search this site for 4age and when you see Normo look at my pics. Well worth the effort.
