Am thinkn of buying a 32/36 Weber off a L16 from wreckers.....I am not sure on its condition internally but from what the guy said and looks new gaskets and seals have been fitted and the whole thing was driven for about 2 years on the L16.

Prob is that the manifold comes with the carby as hes selling it as a package for $130...Does this sound alrite?? Will it need re-jetting to be compatible with my A15 or will it be ok?
I know the trials and tribulations of burning smoke and bad fuel economy if not jetted properally but will this make a hell of a difference??

Cheers
Dave

Oh and will need to make adapter plate, is aluminum fine for this application and bolting strait onto the previous A15 manifold or opt for a better flowing one??

hell no

carb should be $50 max and as cheap as 20, a rebuild/gasket kit is like $40-45

itll run with thewrong jets but down the track you really wanna get it right

just make the adaptor to fit on the stock manifold, that willl be fine

they come stock on a lot of ford cars, look at mark 2 cortinas, i think they had them, and redline make an adapter but they are #### you have to file out the holes a fair bit better off making your own.

rightio, so i spose the manifold which is with the package is the reason for the overpricing then?? Are these carbs rare or quite common around the place?? i reckon ill just go look around the wreckers here.....

Yeah the reddline adapters are crap, the two holes are small as and they dun fit right!

Actually if anyone here from launceston reads this where is the best wreckers for nissan/dattos? foster st, mekenzie st etc??

Cheers
Dave
