Well it happend i started the ute for the first time last nite and it could not have gone better. The motor sounds strong does not blow smoke does not rattle or tick i cant explain how much relief i feel.

It kick over on the first hit, We used a tune out of my mates CA18DET Gazelle which runs the same coil setup as mine and it work ok but is not spot on so we will be tuning on saturday.

The car is realy loud maybe to loud but i dont care at the moment im just glad to hear it running.

yes its always a fantastic feeling hearing that motor tick over for the first time.
My experience had Jeff Taylor in histerics, as the motor blew a heap of smoke (due to worn guides and left sitting for 7 months), with him saying "ah... its a pig!!".
Kind of a bitter-sweet memory for me and very humbling experience.

BTW, the engine didnt turn out to be a pig the thing soars to 8500rpm with no problem. Next time out I may push to 9000rpm but I may run out of track!!!
