hey everyone..

just wondering how much it would cost to respray a datsun 1200 ute the same colour and how much it would cost to spray it a totally different colour..

also just wondering what work it involved.. cause i was pretty sure it involved stripping the car practically to bare metal.. and thats a really big job..

one more thing.. i was just wondering if anyone could give me or tell me where i could get a list of the original datsun 1200 ute colours and maybe some samples or something..

thank you..

The cost of a professional respray in the same colour depends on a few things,... like

How much work that you do yourself? If you strip & re assemble the car, the cost is less.
The actual paint price can vary with the diferent make & type of paint. Enamel is cheap, but two part epoxy paint is more costly.
How much body repair is needed before it is ready to paint? Does it have any dents or rust? These should be repaired first & that adds to the cost.
How long can you be without the car? High priority jobs usually cost more, but if it is of a lower priority, then the repairer may charge less.
So you see, it's hard to give you a price. The best person to ask might be a local panel shop, or two.

an example, my ute respray was $2k with a 5 day turnaround. 3days prep work 2 days spraying and picked it up on the 6th day (god made the 7th day for cruising).
Its not a show job but i juust wanted a nice streetable job that will last.
My old mini was a $4.5k show finish in basic 2pak. had a 1.5month turnaround (but it was worht every cent).

Depends on the level of prep and finish you want
