corrigin dog in a ute is on saturday the 9th of april.
not a datto event, a ute event, but my datto ute is going to be there. I don't want it to get lonely, so can we get some other datto utes there?
The record at the moment is 1527, a record many people say can't be beaten. organizers are expecting a good turnout, so lets show 'em what we can do!

you also need to bring a dog (no stuffed ones or blow up ones )

To be eligible the ute must be licenced or have a temporary permit(available from licensing centres) to go in the convoy

any one else planning on going?

if the ute is done by then ill make a bloody good attempt. May have to borrow a dog though.

just checked out the website again.. It looks like its going to be heaps of fun.

following events are on:

The same monster ute that was at last years Perth Royal Show will be preforming for at the paddock. Mike Tuana, the utes owner, will be doing some burnouts and other stunts for us. The genorous support of Smorgons Steel recycling and drumMUSTER chemical drum collectors is acknowledged in making this possible.

Ute Judging
There will be the preliminary judging of Ute prizes such as best ute, feral ute, best female ute etc.
This is being very geneously being sponsored by PEDDERS SUSPENSION who have donated a total of $3000 in vouchers. There is no need to enter this as all utes will be assessed as they arrive

Iron Man
The heatsof the Iron Man contest will be held. This involves those the quickest at rolling a swag, eating a pie, and drinking a can of beer

Dog and Owner Competion
We will also running a competion for dogs and owners prettiest dog/owner, ugliest dog/owner

The following bands will be playing on the night:
Figure it Out (a local band with one of our committee on the drums)
The Clan (who may be doing a live recording of their gig on the night)
Mystery Bet (who played for us at the 2002 event)
Darrren Reid and The Soul City Groove (for more information on this band click here)
Tim Dawes will also be playing during the evening (He also played at our last event and features on our video of this event)

There will be a climbing wall, bucking bronco, motorized mini jeeps, a jumping castle, Super Sumo suits and dog lotto

dog lotto is an interesting one.. i think theres a number of poles in an enclosure, with numbers on. You have to pick a number, after which they let the (male) dogs in. The first pole to be "wet" by the dogs is the winning number

well the event has been and gone. No records were broken, although a good time was had by all. 1325 utes attended, not all that much below last times total of 1527.

Not much turn out from datto drivers... spotted one 1200 ute, and one 1500 ute. The 1500 won the feral ute award... it had a radiator mounted in front of the car, with an F250 grill in front of that. Looked quite a sight. Will post pics sometime this week
