posting to one another to converse is silly, PM'ing is slow. perhaps we could open an IRC channel on say EFNET or some AUS irc network so that we can chat to each other !! if its on EFNET i might be able to get a mate to run some bots, to keep the channel alive and secure for just us members whaddya think..?
join me #datsun1200.com on efnet

IRC is inter relay chat (or something) it lets people talk and send files and yada yada over the internet.
howto:
download Mirc and install. (or bitchx if using *nix)
join an EFNET server eg irc.prison.net:6666
type /j #datsun1200.com

w00t you can use IRC through a webpage!!
http://www.jwirc.com/chat.html
let is install its java thing. if your computer is prehistoric it could take some time..
change your settings to look something like this.

once you join you can see other members who are online (if any1 tries this) and chat freely!!

Wow, I didn't think my server would become known on other sites that quick. I set the server up for Datnet, but its a general Datto enthusiast discussion server so you guys from here are more than welcome to come and chat! We've been having a couple of issues with the server but it seems to be sorted now. You can connect on datnetirc.no-ip.org or use the Java client on chat.datnet.org.

Good ol' internet relay chat. I was thinking I could set a channel up on dal.net as I frequent that server anyways.. There seems to already be one or two channels set up so I don't think thats quite worth it.. I'm in the #datnet channel now and it's just me and this other guy - perhaps we should have people, who are always connected to the internet or whatever, to idle in there when they aren't home - or aren't paying attention .. Just so it looks better then having 1 person or 2 in there.

Just a suggestion..

Its been a bit quiet. But the servers only been running smoothly for about a day so give it some time. But if we add in fake people everyone will be like hi! hello.... and no one will be there which would annoy them...
