I've got a 1200 coupe with a stuffed driveshaft that has to be replaced. Can any one tell me if the 1600 driveshaft is the same as the 1200 one?

If you tell us your location you are more likely to get help from other members.
If by "stuffed driveshaft" you mean tailshaft, then the answer is NO. The 1600 tailshaft wont fit into your 1200.

Just updated my profile with my location, didn't realise I hadn't put that in.

By driveshaft I mean the tube that transfers the output from the gearbox to the rear diff. This is called tailshaft in Aus?

No, the 1600 ones are different. But you should be able to get new uni joints for the shaft. "If" they have circlips holding them in. Modern tailshafts are unserviceable, and have to be replaced as a whole unit (expensive).
