Hi Guys
I've been running A series engines in my clubman now for 4 years. First an A12 now a A15 both normally asp. I run Hill Climbs and compete with guys usually running Toyota 20v, so far they can't catch me and it seems to piss them of just slightly.

welcome! gearing and weight (and it's distribution) play a lot in hillclimbs - as i'm sure you're aware.

What sort of power do you reckon you get out of a streetable A12? I have a Honda Accord Euro which makes 140kw, but of course its a lot heavier. I would like my datto to at least be as quick to 60kph.

Hi Clubman - I am hoping to do this build myself and am encouraged by your experience against the bigger multivalves. What gearbox/rear end/front did you go with. How modified is your current A 15? You can post pictures to the photo album link on the left of this page.

Hi teretonga- I have posted a pic in the album but haven't worked out how to get a pic in a post yet. The car Celica 5 speed with my own conversion that is cheap, H165 180B wagaon banjo and a C20 vannette 4.9 locked. Front uprights are Triumph Spitfire. The A15 has flat tops decked block, polished rods, bored and balanced, head ported, dbl valve springs but still running standard valves, A15 oval port head, lightened fly wheel. Car weighs 450KG. Not bad for a 35yr old car.
