Rob and me at calder early 70s,yes we had no sway bars and yes Robs car has 10x6 wheels.
Robs is the second car which later became the 1000 sport sedan (pink and blue)

Thanks for the pic. It's quite interesting as the front car is a four door, which is the second heaviest body in the model lineup. It was also more expensive than the two door model, & it looks, in this photo, like it's got smaller diameter wheels on one side only. The left side wheels look to be the regular size in the photo. Yeah, i know, it's an optical delusion.

When i fitted the front sway bar to my sedan it made one hell of a diference.

I love these old race photo's, so keep 'em coming.

I don't believe that the KB10 was raced in Australia by either of the two major Datsun distributors. By the time they were in a position to do so, the 1200GX had become available.

Rob's car is the one behind and its the one with 10x6's. I can tell Robs is the second car because Greg's car says Sutherland on the guard.
Plus key giveaway;

Atleast I would think Greg is refering to the second car as the one comeing second.

Does anyone know why the 1k was disqualigied in 1968 after crossing the line in front of the corollas?

Also what positioned the 1k was when it crossed the line? I tried in the Bathurst records but nothing there.

If i remember rightly, this was discussed in another thread & i think that B310GX said something about carb jet sizes.

Just because it had a Bolivian [or whatever] spec carb jet is no reason to get excited, but it looks like they did.

I think that just about all the teams fudged whatever they could get away with back then. I remember that my father [now deceased] told me that the suspension in the Citroen that he raced in '68 was not exactly the way the factory made it, something about valving if i recall, but the Citroen distributor was the only one with the correct tech specs & they would have been, ummm, unavailable, if there was ever a question raised.
Like i said, just about everyone tried something or other, but only a few got caught.

I thought that they had won it in '68 with a '67 model car & were disqualified in '69 with a '68 car.
I think that the disqualified car had finished first in class "A"
Hopefully B310GX will read this & correct any errors.
