Im new to the forum. Il briefly introduce myself then ask my questions. My name is Sam and I own a silver Datsun Sunny. Is currently got the standard 1200 motor with extractors and 2.5inch exhaust! Will try to post some pictures up soon!

Someone in Adeliade is selling an A15 motor with draw through turbo setup! I was reading up on these set ups and realised that they are hard to tune as the carburettors are a velocity sensative device and cannot adapt to pressure changes caused by the turbo? Is this true and if so, how hard are they to tune? What modifications have to be done to the carburettor?

Also he reakons he's got the complete setup including and electronic fuel pump! As I an trying to extend my knowledge on this setup, what should be in the complete setup?

He also stated that the turbo is from a lancer but is bugged! can I purchase a second hand turbo off a pulsar E15 and use that? How much would a replacement cost?

Sorry for all the questions but Im looking to put this motor into my sunny for an everyday hooner! He wants $600 for the package!

If the set up is drawthrough, the fuel going through the turbo will dacay the seals in some brands of turbos.
I was told by a guy with much experience that Aireseach/garatt turbos are ok.

On a drawthrough set up, the carb is only exposed to vaccuum, and a varialbe main jet carb, (such as an SU) should be no more difficult to tune on a turbo than it would be on an NA engine.

Take a good look at the turbo manifold, it's guality will greatly determine the value of the setup.
