Just toying with the idea of fitting a bonnet scoop to allow some fresh air over the sidedraft.
As you all would know, A series sidies fit snug over extractors and would obviously draw warmer air as well as warm air under the bonnet.
I was thinking of some thing like a scaled down version of the XW GT bonnet scoop.
Any ideas?

J.

Nissan GU Patrol bonnet scoops don't look too bad if you're after something with a bit of size ?? around $120 from Nissan if i remember correctly.

If you don't want the look of a bonnet scoop or just want something different, you can buy a stainless steel louvre vents. Go to www.bla.com.au & look under engine room vents. There are a few different types & they look to be very well made.

I put an aluminium sheet between the webers and the extractors to keep the heat away and cut a hole behind the grille with a big funnel in it to direct fresh air onto the carbs.

Works very well and doesnt wreck your hood.

you can get monaro mudguard flutes from rare spares in metal for $45 a side.

a recessed bonnet perforation would be very cool indeed.

sidedraught's idea is also a good one. -great for sleeper value.

This is mine
Its moulded into the bonnet as one piece fibreglass. It doesn't have an opening at the front as the engine sits beside me and I really don't need any airflow onto the front suspesnsion.
I'm going to make a few with the hole cut out at the front for street vehicles when I can get my lazy arse into the shed.

Neil these would have to be two of the best racing photos I have ever seen posted on this site.
