Picked up the L20b Today and noticed it has an electronic dizzy.

Do these use an external ignition box or is it built into the distributor????

all the controls are inside the distributor, all you need is a coil to suit that distributor.a standard
coil MAY work.i've seen it happen both ways, where one electronic dizzy would work with just a stock coil, then another wouldn't. plus, you dont need the resistor,so it can be bypassed.

If you are using the original coil, then keeping the ballast resistor is a good idea. As it maintains correct voltage to the coil. Otherwise install a 12 volt coil.
