Dude,

Rally rego still requires a blue slip, however you can make EXTENSIVE mods for your car without the need of an engineering certificate to acquire rego....
HOWEVER
Its costs the same per year for the rego as a road car...
you still have to have a green slip
it allows you only to drive on public roads in between special stages at a CAMS sanctioned event.
You cannot drive it on a public road, unless you first get written permission from CAMS and then the RTA. This would only be given if it was asked for to take it to a mechanic and the written permission would have the to and from addresses on it. If the Police were to pull you over they would get you for an unrego'd vehicle if you havent got the permission (or have strayed from your destination if you did get permission) and thats like a huge fine....
I risked driving my rally car every day for 12 months on the road...then again I havent done too many more things stoopider....
alot of fun driving your race car to work...especially the thing had no sound deadening and a super loud exhaust...used to turn heads on Castlereagh St in Sydney and the reverberation coming off the skyscrapers and Harbour tunnel was amazing....

Anyway back to it...if you want it to be driven on the road, I would get normal rego and an engineering certificate and this rego can still be used for everyday use...

sounds like it's no good for me,as i basically just wanted to be able to drive it to khana's &
such.sounds like even doing this is outside the regulations, even though they'd be cams sanctioned events.if it's also going to be as expensive as a normal rego,i think i'll just stick it on the back of the truck my mates just bought & be done with it.if he wants to do rally's in the car, then i'll leave it up to him to sort it out.
