driving normally today, for a change, and engaged third gear and then suddenly started hearing a rattling noise coming from my gearbox. the noise is always there but more prominent in third gear.
enigne a14 with a 4 spd. any ideas what it could be. if its stuffed, does anyone have one they dont want ?

could be the main bearing on the front of the gearbox, has a lot of stress from the a14 and a15 engines with the tourque transfer if you like to dump the clutch. Is it a 56a gearbox? if so cheap and easy to replace and drive around for another 6 months
