I dumped the idea of puting the v6 in the datto, i trial fitted it and there were too many clearence problems e.g the starter motor was in the way of where the mount was on the xmember, my father or I couldnt see any way around it. I decided to go L20b since they are a nice torquey motor which i exactly what i want. i brought a 910 bluebird series 1 last week for a very good price, l20b+ 5 speed....the motor has been trial fitted in the datto, and it is defiantly do-able, i swapped the the mount rubbers with the l20b ones, changed he mounts on the motor with the a series which believe it or not, bolted on! one side bolts onto the xmember, but the drivers side is off by about 200mm which isnt too bad considering it is a larger motor. the bellhousing will easily clear the tunnel, well not at the moment as the motor isnt centralised. note to those who have thought bout the conversion or gonna do it, the 910 sump is the best to use as the way the sump is designed it is best suited for a b310 from what i see. Will have some photos uploaded by tomorrow of what has been done so far.

question, 180b *610* xmembers bolt onto b210s, i have recently been told they will bolt onto a b310, is this true? because i dont really want to waste more money on parts that wont fit.

the conversion is almost at the end, i put the gearbox on today and it fits nicely, but the shifter is about 5cms further back from where the a series one was. clutch works good. the engine clears everything perfectly, even the bonnet with plenty of space to spare. clears the sway bar, steering rack doesnt hit the sump at full lock. all that is left to do is put the 910 radiator in, make up a gearbox xmember and mount the 2 piece bluebird driveshaft in, perfect length!
