exhaust interchangeability
Guest_
looking to swap the 2.5 inch exhaust system fom the coupe to the ute and the 2 inch from the ute to the coupe.
As i havent got the coupe to look at at the moment, are they similar in length and flow paths?
Do the mount to the same places.
I have a feeling the utes is slightly longer but not by much.
can anyone shed some light on this for me.

All 1200s are the same wheelbase and length (except for long-bed truck, the difference is in the length of the exhaust pipe, not the muffler or tailpipe).

The trucks have a muffler mounted vertically, but on the cars it lies flat.

That being said it might work if you cut and rotate the muffler and move the brackets. I used a complete exhaust from a B310 on my 1200, it bolted right in to my sedan believe it or not with no mods ...

Coupe and sedan are similar but the bend at the back is slightly different and the rear hanger is in a different spot.

Talking about exhaust setups, what configuration is everyone else using?

Theres only 5 mounting points on 1200s, 120ys (i think) and Sunnys...exhaust flange, gearbox, two for the muffler and the tail pipe

Ddgonzal, so the clearances are the same for leaf and coil from sunny to 1200? Smart Datsun engineers !

might have a look at the rear muffler but my ute one looks flat to me not verticle....
might just get two new inlet/exhaust gaskets and swap the whole systems over...
better spending $25 than another $200 for nothing..
