Okay folks I know you guys are 1200 based but there are no forums for B310's that I can find... So I'm asking you :)

I want to (radically) lower my 1979 140Y coupe, what are my options?

I've looked at chopped springs, not ideal, but if push comes to shove I'll do it.

I got a quote for changing the front end from struts to coil overs, with telescopic dampers on the rear, it comes out to about

King Springs or Pedders suspension in Australia have off the shelf lower springs and shocks that will do the job for you. I know that at least 1 of our US 310 owners has imported suspension for his car. Was cost effective and certainly nothing close to your figure. Heres some King info: King Lows and Superlows

i have pedders sport ryder lowering springs on the back of my US b310, and i guess it's lower. The front is too high, but I still have the stock suspension in front.

I have to say as far as handling goes it handles good considering i've only done the rear suspension.

I'm getting coil overs for the front so lowering should be easy.

I've only spent about $1600USD for wildwood dynalite brakes, pads, caliper adaptor,280zx turbo strut tubes, wheel bearings, brakes disks, custom coil overs, camber plates. koni special dampers ( all around ) basically everything up in the front end.

coilover kit ~ $700 ( expensive first run stuff custom made it'll get cheaper )
Brake conversion no more than $450

you'd pay a bit in shipping, but I think i got more value.

Check on ebay I buy all the small parts there.

At the very least, put your post in off topic.

the yahoo club can help sometimes.

I scored the $75 dogleg box off there. It's worth so much more, clean smooth came with the output shaft for converting the 60 series driveshaft.

I think there are more people on here that know about lowering and hotrodding.

Rip out your springs, find a spring maker, and get them reset. Only costs about $40NZD per spring here. Then find a suspention place, and get your shock absorbers shortened so that the springs stay captive.

Alternatively, measure the diameter of your coils and talk to an aftermaket spring supplier, and see what they have that will fit.
