got this bloke lives across the road, and everytime i start my car to do some work to it he comes over and carrys on about how the sound funnels across the street and into his bedroom.
he always happens to be sleeping when i do this.
sunday is the only day i get to work on my car.
would i be an ass to keep it up?????
does this happen to anyone else???

tell him to get ####ed, ur not breaking law. im sure ur datto isnt as loud as my families v8 ski boat with no mufflers, weve never had any trouble we run it in the backyard all the time. i think ur neighbour is just like u say a whinger .

Don't worry, there seems to always be a wingey neighbour, I have one up the road from me.
My neighbour came up and asked be not to do something so I said sure no problem, then he started getting agro as if I'd told him to F off, I guess he had his speech all ready worked out and when I complied with his request it threw him off

yeah this bloke is like that. spews his aggro then storms off. gee his face can go red.
but it seems ok for his giant dogs to come in to my backyard and lay giant turds on my lawn.
i ought to go put a "quiet please" sign up at the start of the street

Right heres a plan.
Go get one of those giant turds, put it in a paper bad and do the old lighting trick on his front door step then go start the datto and rev the sh!t out of it...

Ive got 1 neighbour whose a old dikhead who thinks he's the friggn lord of the land or suburb.. Big house, noisy dogs, stupid garden grrrrr i wish dad still had his .22 so i could put a few in those damn dogs at 5am!!
Our other neighbour is awsome, we have revving competitions between my datto and their dune buggy

This isn't car related, but we had a neighbour come down the street and tell us to turn off the music at 11:30pm on New Years Eve once. I've never seen one bloke cop as much abuse as he did, even had some bottles launched at him.

Needless to say he has never been back.

yer i got a few of thes ppl in my st.. but the wprse thing is one of them his sun is a cop.. and yes i hav had them waiting 4 me 2 cum home.. they did get me once but couldn do anything coz my car wazn ther.. lucky my gf had the car 4 the day..but i think i pissed the neighbors off a bit 4 the 150m burn out i did down the st.. whoops my bad...and my car isnt that loud its only 119db.. my mate across the rd his accent is as loud...

Over the years there has been plenty of noise come out of my place, compressors running on and off allday, my brother and his band practising, reving the #### out of our cars when we knew no better. Only ever had one complaint and that day I tried to limit the noise. Never had anymore complaints. But if they did complain, I would respect their wishes best I could.

Having said all that. I have one neighbour behind me who has just got his first car, a Fiat 131 and he is always reving the #### out of it. Honestly I can handle the noise but the thought of his engine is what annoys me.

I wonder if he is complaining about the actual noise or like me, its the thought of the poor engine that is annoying him the most.
What are you doing when you are reving your engine? My neighbour is really just reving his while his head is under the bonnet, doing nothing.
I understand trying to clean out a carbie by placing your hand over it and giving the engine a rev or 2. But not much else is gained buy reving the crap out of the poor engine. Engines simply just dont like it.

Not trying to say you in the wrong here mate.
Just curious as to what it is you are doing.
If you simply just in and out the driveway many times a day, I think the guy is just a whinger like you describe.
